Overview
Bybit is a cryptocurrency derivatives and spot trading platform that requires user authentication to access account balances, trading tools, and withdrawals. This page explains how to sign in to Bybit, enable and manage two-factor authentication (2FA), handle forgotten passwords, and fix common login problems.
How to Sign In (Step-by-step)
- Open the Bybit website or mobile app. Official sign-in pages are typically: https://www.bybit.com/en-US/sign-in (confirm region-specific domain if needed).
- On the sign-in form enter your registered email address or phone number and your password.
- If prompted, complete captcha or anti-bot verification steps.
- If 2FA is enabled, enter the one-time code generated by your authenticator app (e.g., Google Authenticator, Authy) or from SMS if you use SMS 2FA.
- Click
Sign In. If credentials are correct you will be taken to your dashboard.
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
2FA drastically improves account security. Bybit supports authenticator apps and SMS-based verification. We recommend using an authenticator app:
- Install an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, or similar).
- In Bybit > Account Security > Two-Factor Authentication, scan the QR code and save the backup code in a secure place.
- Always keep backup codes offline — they’re required if you lose access to your 2FA device.
Account Recovery & Forgot Password
If you can't sign in because you forgot your password:
- Go to the sign-in page and click
Forgot password. - Enter the email linked to your account and follow the password reset email instructions.
- If you no longer have access to that email or your 2FA device, follow Bybit's account recovery procedures — you may need to submit identity verification documents.
Important: Account recovery may take several business days and requires proof of identity. Never share your password, 2FA codes, or backup phrases with anyone.
Troubleshooting Common Login Issues
- Incorrect password: Use
Forgot passwordand reset through your email. - No 2FA code: If your authenticator was reset or lost, use your saved backup codes or start recovery with Bybit support.
- Suspicious activity lock: Some accounts are temporarily locked after unusual attempts — check your email for instructions from Bybit.
- Browser problems: Clear cache & cookies, try incognito mode, or use a different browser/device.
Security Best Practices
- Enable 2FA using an authenticator app (not SMS if possible).
- Use a strong, unique password and a reputable password manager.
- Beware of phishing: verify URLs and never click links in unsolicited emails before confirming sender legitimacy.
- Keep your OS and apps updated and enable withdrawal whitelist if available.
